The Movers and Storers Show 2016

Earlier this month, we exhibited at The Movers and Storers Show with Matt Hawkins and Sue Schonberger representing TwentyCi. We catch up with our team to find out more about this year's event.

So, tell us about the event...

Matt - This year the show was at a new location, Bruntingthorpe Aerodrome. The venue, being all on one level, allowed even the trucks to be part of the main exhibition - with some also being advertised for sale.

Sue - There was attendance from a variety of senior decision makers, with particularly more presence from storage companies this year which was great to see. The show was spread over two days with presentations and competitions throughout.

What were some of your key takeaways from the event? Any industry trends that were discussed?

Matt - As you might expect, Brexit was a common topic of conversation. Many in the industry are concerned about the number of people putting their houses up for sale, with this Summer in particular having been much quieter than previous years. The Stamp Duty rise earlier in the year is also thought to be contributing to this impact.

Sue - I enjoyed meeting many of our clients, as well as the opportunity to become introduced to lots of new faces! I speak to many in the industry on the phone a lot, so it was great to put faces to voices.

What's on your post-conference to-do list?

Sue - We're busy with post-event correspondence. It's fantastic to hear first hand about some of the excellent feedback and industry buzz that is being generated around our MoverAlerts service.

What's next on your event list?

Matt - The next event I'll be attending is The BAR Conference in May.
