With February's unseasonably warm weather, many in the UK may have been thinking about coastal trips to make the most of the sun - or perhaps even a more long-term solution of relocation to the seaside.  For this edition, we therefore decided to look at Trip Advisor's top rated beaches in the UK and their surrounding areas' property markets. 

  1. Bournemouth Beach

Bournemouth beach has some of the warmest sea temperatures in the UK and has amazing views of the Isle of Wight and the Purbecks. There are 327,459 households, with 6747 properties currently for sale. The average current price of a property is £428,406 and the average time a property is on the market is 150 days.

  1. Luskentyre

Luskentyre sands is found on the west coast of South Harris in the Outer Hebrides, it is one of the largest and most spectacular beaches on Harris. It boasts miles of white sand and stunning green-blue water. In the Outer Hebrides, there are 21,421 households, with 42 properties currently for sale. The average current price of a property is £131,927 and the average time a property is on the market is 101 days.

  1. Brelade’s Bay Beach

This beautiful Jersey beach has golden sands and plenty of places of interest to see or activities to do, including water sports, beach cafes and restaurants.  The Isle of Jersey has 76,926 households, with 50 properties currently for sale. The average current price of a property is £2,662,960 and the average time a property is on the market is 365 days.

  1. Woolacombe Beach

Woolacombe beach is one of the finest beaches in the west country, stretching across three miles, it is very possible to find a nice quiet area to relax by the sea. It is also becoming one of the international surfing hotspots. There are currently 363,765 households, with 5804 properties currently for sale. The average current price of a property is £332,472 and the average time a property is on the market is 160 days.

  1. Barafundle Bay

A small bay backed by dunes and pine trees, with the nearest car park being a half mile walk away. Popular due to its isolated location, golden sand and crystal-clear waters. Located near Swansea, there are 426,718 households, with 6735 properties currently for sale. The average current price of a property is £217,921 and the average time a property is on the market is 211 days.

  1. Filey Beach

Lining the beach are beach chalets and a sculpture trail. Nearby, are rock pools to go and explore. Yorkshire has 392,665 households, with 5230 properties currently for sale. The average current price of a property is £270,000 and the average time a property is on the market is 147 days.

  1. Gorleston Beach

Those who come here will definitely be spoilt for choice, activities ranging from tennis and basketball courts, shops and cafes, the town centre is also a five minute walk away with cliff tops overlooking the Lower Esplanade. There are 451,095 households, with 7603 properties currently for sale. The average current price of a property is £279,157 and the average time a property is on the market is 136 days.

  1. Perranporth Beach

Hailed as a great place to surfing, snorkelling and sailing, Perranporth beach is an easily accessible attraction for anyone who comes to visit. There are 206,551 households, with 3203 properties currently for sale. The average current price of a property is £325,286 and the average time a property is on the market is 162 days.

  1. Newborough Beach

In the background, are the mountains of Snowdonia and the Lleyn Peninsula. One of the most beautiful beaches that is large enough so that it won’t feel overcrowded. The area of Llandudno has 340,958 houeholds, with 5604 properties currently for sale. The average current price of a property is £221, 527 and the average time a property is on the market is 232 days.

To summarise, the above data shows that the Isle of Jersey has the dearest average current property price on the market (£2,662,960). The Outer Hebrides has the cheapest average current property price on the market (£131,927).
